We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Help with food storage and inventory management to ensure freshness and compliance with health regulations. Support the cooking staff by preparing simple meals, garnishing dishes, and plating food as required. Follow all safety and hygiene standards to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods. Assist with any other duties as assigned by the kitchen management team.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking is key. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs. Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
