We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Lead Practitioner to join our new team in providing exceptional care and education to children in a our Brand new Pre-school setting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for both children and staff.
Responsibilities
Support the daily management of the nursery and step into the Manager's role when needed.
Promote a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore and learn.
Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning through play.
Motivate a team of early years practitioners.
Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCO in the Manager's absence.
Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and any incidents that occur within the Pre-school.
Maintain high standards in line with the EYFS, Ofsted, and health & safety regulations.
Monitor and support the development of key children through effective observation, assessment, and planning,
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for example registers, accident forms, and tapestry
Liaise with parents, carers, and outside agencies to support the individual needs of each child.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as safeguarding policies.
Skills
Proven experience in a Pre-school or Early years setting, with a strong understanding of early childhood education.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a collaborative atmosphere, showing a proactive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude.
Ability to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of care provided within the Pre-school.
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework(EYFS)
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development through engaging activities.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of care.

Essential
A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, BTEC).
A minimum of two years' recent experience working in an early years setting.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to undertake training).
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to employment).
