Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a passion for creating nutritious meals in a childcare setting. This role requires effective communication with staff, parents, and children, ensuring that all dietary needs are met while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The job hours are 7:30am-4:30pm monday-friday with an hours lunch break.

Duties

Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including meal planning, preparation, and presentation. Working alongside a kitchen assistant to serve all daily meals to the children including, breakfast, lunch, tea time and snacks. Communicate effectively with parents regarding dietary requirements and any food-related concerns. Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are stocked and in good working order. Drive initiatives to promote healthy eating habits among children. Collaborate with early childhood educators to integrate nutrition education into the curriculum. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen management role, preferably within a childcare or educational setting. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous. Experience working with children is highly desirable. Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A passion for promoting healthy eating habits among young children.
