Salary:

14.80 per hour

Job Purpose:



To provide leadership and management to ensure high quality early years education and care for children aged 3years to 5 years of age. The pre-school manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, fostering a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for the children, alongside the staff and pre-school committee.

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership & Management:



Lead, manage and inspire the preschool team.

Develop a strong team culture, supporting staff performance and wellbeing.

Hold staff meetings and individual supervision sessions.

Oversee staff recruitment, training, development and appraisal.

Communication and collaboration with pre-school committee.

Curriculum & Learning:



Ensure the delivery of a high-quality curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation (EYFS).

Monitor and evaluate children's development and learning through observations and assessments.

Promote inclusive practices that meet needs of all children.

Safeguarding & Child Protection:



Act as designated safeguarding lead (DSL) or support the DSL in all safeguarding matters.

Ensure all staff understand and follow safeguarding policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate child protection records and work with external agencies when required.

Operational Oversight:



Ensure the pre-school meets all regulatory and legal requirements (e.g. Ofsted or local early years authority standards).

Manage enrolment, attendance and waiting lists.

Keep accurate records of accidents, incidents and complaints.

All aspects feedback to pre-school committee at termly committee meetings.

Health & Safety:



Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment.

Conduct regular risk assessments and health and safety checks.

Ensure staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures.

Parent & Community Engagement:



Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.

Handle parent queries, concerns and feedback professionally.

Promote the pre-school and support marketing efforts.

Financial & Administrative Duties:



Assist with budget management and financial planning.

Monitor income and expenditure, including staff hours and payroll

Ensure all policies, procedures and documentation are kept up to date alongside the committee treasurer.

Assist with funding and invoicing from children attending the setting

Person Specification:



Qualifications:



Minimum level 3 in Early Years Education (E.g. CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent)

Desirable:



Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Safeguarding & Child Protection Training

Experience:



Proven experience of working with children aged 3 to 5 years of age,

Experience of working within a regulatory framework (e.g. Ofsted or equivalent)

Skills & Attributes:



Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent understanding of child development and EYFS.

Good organisational and time management abilities.

Effective communication with children, staff, parents and pre-school committee.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.80 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
