Essential criteria
MinimumLevel 3 childcare qualification
At least two years experience of working in an early years leadership role.
Excellent working knowledge of safeguarding and SEND protocols and procedures.
Job Summary
We are looking for an exceptional Nursery Manager to lead our Preschool Nursery team and oversee all aspects of our nursery. Your primary focus will be to provide outstanding care, support, and learning opportunities for every child.
Our nursery is a small, nurturing environment that accommodates up to 24 children per session. In this role, you will engage directly with the children as a keyworker while also having dedicated time away from the room to ensure that we maintain a safe, inclusive and effective setting where all children can thrive.
Responsibilities
To effectively lead and manage the staff team through role modelling, supervisions, meetings, day-to-day guidance and support to staff, volunteers and students.
To provide a safe, inclusive environment for children and their families.
To be part of staffing ratios ie hands on leader.
To plan for children's success through high standards of care and education within the setting.
To keep accurate records and documentation and produce reports as requested in the interests of children's safety and wellbeing.
To work in partnership with other agencies who have a role to play in the provision of services to families.
To maintain strict confidentiality related to information held concerning children and their families.
To work within Tameside's Safeguarding Children procedures and communicate any concerns relating to children's safety or wellbeing to Children's Social Care without delay.
To be aware of and sensitive to the individual needs of children, ensuring each child receives personalised attention and care.
To ensure all policies, procedures and Early Years Foundation Stage curriculums are implemented and adhered to.
To effectively manage a resource budget.
To manage occupancy levels and staffing ratios.
To maintain the safety and hygiene of all resources and equipment.
To promote effective parent partnerships which encourage positive relationships.
To keep abreast of current early childhood learning and wellbeing trends.
To promote equality and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
To participate in regular supervision and to undertake appropriate professional training and development.
To attend and contribute to meetings and events withing the wider team.
To work flexibly as required by the organisation, including some evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 23,345.00 per year
