Overview


Premier Plant are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ERP systems and will be skilled in negotiation and logistics.

Duties



Source, negotiate, and purchase plant, tools, parts, consumables, and hire-in equipment. Run supplier tendering, price challenges, rate reviews, and benchmarking. Negotiate commercial agreements, frame agreements, & preferred supplier terms. Track and drive purchase cost savings, rebate opportunities, and cost-avoidance. Maintain accurate pricing & product data within internal systems (hire system / ERP). Work closely with workshop / depot teams to forecast stock & repair demand. Manage inbound deliveries, purchase order accuracy, and invoice queries. Manage supplier performance - quality, lead time, repair turnaround, warranty claims. Track total cost of ownership, not just headline price. Report on category spend, risks, & opportunities to leadership. Identify alternative suppliers, products & substitutions to protect margin. Support CapEx planning for plant fleet expansion and renewals.

Experience



Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role within a Plant/Tool Hire/Construction industry. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful supplier management. Knowledge of hire software MCS is advantageous. Familiarity with logistics processes and supply chain management principles. Data-driven, with strong attention to detail & record accuracy. Comfortable in a fast-moving operational environment. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on building relationships.
