About this opportunity

Here in the Embedded Finance team, we\'re a start-up group within Consumer Lending and are tasked with building out propositions that solve customers\xe2\x80\x99 financial needs, when and where they are.

We want to tackle problems for existing franchise customers as well as those new to franchise, using outstanding LBG capabilities in ways that are coordinated into customers\xe2\x80\x99 existing lifestyles. We\xe2\x80\x99ll be bold and innovative in our use of data and technology to put customers first, to build balanced and long-term business models, thus adding to Group capabilities overall.

We\xe2\x80\x99ll continually test and iterate for growth and takeaways. We seek people with a desire to learn, an ability to build thought-partnerships with a broad range of specialists across functions, and the patience and resilience to implement strategies that will evolve with changing customer, market and regulatory contexts.

As the Product Owner, you\xe2\x80\x99ll report into the Managing Director, Embedded Finance, and will work closely with commercial teams across Functions (e.g. Product, Tech, Credit Risk, Finance, Strategy.), Business Units (e.g. BCB, CIB) as well as our External Technology Partner (NewDay Tech) to build one of the core capabilities for the team.

The key success factor for the role will be the set up and delivery of a clear Tech Roadmap for Embedded Finance, encompassing builds of capabilities, features and user experience as we create new propositions to meet evolving customer and channel needs.

To build this, you\xe2\x80\x99ll partner collaboratively with technology partners inside and outside the Group, keep a close watch on competitors\xe2\x80\x99 solutions and emerging capabilities, and continually monitor resource utilisation for an efficient and effective delivery of solutions.

Building strong mechanisms for taking in new requirements from potential channel partners, customers, and internal stake-holders, you\xe2\x80\x99ll suggest creative ways to leverage existing and future builds to keep Embedded Finance at the leading edge of customer solutions.

This role is an exciting opportunity to build out a suite of Embedded Finance solutions from scratch, by partnering externally and internally with a range of service providers and technology partners.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need

  • You\xe2\x80\x99ve had significant experience of translating customer and business requirements into technology-based solutions, at a senior level.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re adept at setting up and delivering Tech Roadmaps for new consumer products and propositions.
  • Highly experienced at managing relationships with external partners, providers and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
  • Accustomed to setting strategic direction with aspirational outcomes, you\xe2\x80\x99re also happy to get stuck in and help build agile, learning solutions.
  • Comfortable with challenge, you\xe2\x80\x99re use to asking penetrating questions, and engage constructively when challenged yourself.
You\xe2\x80\x99re someone who seeks hard technology and process challenges, and can come up with simple solutions that balance short-term outcomes with long-term direction. You engage collaboratively with partners to bring all hands on deck to solve a problem.

You care about detail but are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity \xe2\x80\x93 you can zoom out to see which areas of detail truly matter, and how to build with the right tolerances. You also enjoy collaborating across teams and can build strong relationships at pace. And you\xe2\x80\x99ll relish the opportunity to be part of a team that is building for growth!
