Role Description




You will lead the Scrum team, driving change throughout the full development process from concept to delivery, while evaluating opportunities and prioritizing what gets built and delivered through a clear, concise backlog.

Additionally, you will support the Business Analysis/Scrum team with epic creation, assist Business Owners in validating solutions, reviewing epics, user stories, designs, and solutions, and facilitate business validation testing to ensure alignment with the Architecture team.


This is a hybrid role with multi-site working available, and the specific location can be discussed during the interview; however, it requires two days a month in London.


This is a

6-month

full-time contract opportunity.


Salary Information




Pay: Circa 50,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.


About You




Understanding stakeholder needs by grasping the technology product/application and effectively communicating its functionality; regularly demoing Scrum team progress. Engaging in PI planning by contributing to the product vision and roadmap, actively participating in user story definition, and determining team PI objectives. Maintaining the backlog by acting as the customer proxy, prioritizing stories, ensuring clarity and refinement, and collaborating with Product Managers and other Product Owners for alignment with wider initiatives. Fostering Scrum team engagement by nurturing active participation in backlog refinement and user story writing, collaborating closely with the Scrum Master for feedback on delivery timelines, and harmonizing efforts with other Product Owners and Business Owners. Making decisions by signing off on development work, ensuring quality delivery, making quick judgements for team pivots, and nurturing a well-defined backlog for future planning. Escalating issues by addressing deviations, blockers, and dependencies to ensure alignment with company vision and keeping delivery plans on track.



Essential Skills




Experience in IT change delivery roles such as business analyst, project analyst, scrum master, product owner, or project manager. Technical understanding of company system applications and business processes, with a basic grasp of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban. Previous experience in insurance or financial services, along with business knowledge of general insurance claims. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, with experience in adapting to changing technology and processes. Self-motivated, a strong team player, and capable of energizing cross-functional teams while taking a risk-based approach to decision-making.

Desirable Skills




Proficiency in Agile methodologies and familiarity with related tools. Experience in claims processes would be advantageous. Knowledge of Guidewire software and its application in insurance operations. Preferably ACII qualified or demonstrating progression towards this qualification.
