Production Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• The successful applicant will work within the department that is responsible for all current model, new product introduction, engineering, and continuous improvement activities within the plant.
• You will be part of a team of engineers collaborating across functions, from Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and maintenance.
• Driving actions with cross functional teams to improve all KPIs for the plant, ensuring production attainment, efficiency, quality, and scrap reduction objectives are achieved.
• Participation in the Daily Start-up/Accountability meeting as required2,
• Working with NPI Project engineers to implement new products to existing and new production lines.
• Manage and present data to various levels of the organisation.
• Supporting manual and automated welding equipment following British standards.

WHAT YOU BRING ALONG

• A background in a Mechanical/ Electrical engineering discipline is required and the relevant practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Educated to degree level or HNC with relevant industrial experience in welding processes and production engineering.
• A proven track record of welding process engineering, Stainless steel welding, MIG/TIG welding experience.
• Knowledge of Manual and automated welding and of Post welding treatment.
• Experience of automated assembly management systems and production IT systems.
• A proven track record as a process / manufacturing engineer delivering significant value to an organisation and having a sense of urgency to deliver to your internal customers solutions on time and to requirement.
• Ability to work effectively and communicate with cross-functional teams and being a key team player is essential to this role.
• Possess a practical approach to problem solving using A3 / 8D problem solving methodology, analytical with experience of robust data driven decisions.
