Job Description

Crescent Medical, part of Crescent Pharma, is looking for a experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our manufacturing team in Bolton to support the production of essential medicines for the UK pharmaceutical market. The Production Manager will oversee daily operations, drive continuous improvement, and support the introduction of new products and processes.

As Production Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for ensuring the effective manufacture of medicinal products within a safe, compliant, and quality-driven environment. You'll lead and develop a team of Production Supervisors and support them in achieving operational targets, maintaining GMP, and fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leadership & People Management

Manage, motivate, and develop Production Team Leaders. Ensure all staff are trained for their roles and complete assigned training in a timely manner. Conduct first-line disciplinary investigations and hearings.

Operational & Quality Oversight

Ensure production plans are reviewed, communicated, and executed effectively. Maintain GMP and ensure all relevant SOPs and procedures are followed. Lead and support investigations, deviations, and complaints. Maintain high quality standards within the production team. Ensure safe working practices and immediate reporting of Health and Safety concerns.

Process Improvement & Validation

Support the introduction of new products and processes. Prepare and coordinate validation documentation and activities. Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities within the department.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with internal teams including:

Quality Assurance Supply Chain / Planning Warehouse Engineering
You will also interface with external stakeholders such as MHRA inspectors, suppliers, and the Home Office.

The ideal candidate will have:

Over 10 years production experience. Strong team-building and motivational capabilities. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Excellent attention to detail with a strong understanding of GMP and regulatory guidelines. Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Good IT proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word). Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Committed to maintaining high quality and safety standards. Proactive in identifying improvements and implementing solutions.
