Production Manager

About the Role
As Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the full production process at Minirig. You will
work hands-on with the assembly team
, overseeing daily activities, planning production schedules, ensuring quality control across all products, and working closely with our design and procurement teams to make sure everything runs smoothly. The role combines practical problem-solving, team leadership, organisation, and clear communication. You will be joining a team that takes pride in what they do and enjoys working together to create high-quality products.
You will
train, motivate, and manage production staff, ensuring good communication and performance.
You will also be required to
address issues as they arise, anticipate problems, and ensure health, safety, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily production operations, ensuring adherence to documented
Standard Operating Procedures
.
Work directly on the production line with the team
, offering support and guidance.
Plan production schedules in line with demand and maintain accuracy within our
Inventory and Planning systems
.
Coordinate with procurement to maintain component supply and minimize downtime.
Ensure rigorous
testing and quality control standards
are met, including functional and acoustic testing protocols.
Manage and execute product rework and repair activities
to maintain quality output and reduce waste.
Improve processes and support
continuous improvement principles
to enhance efficiency and product success rate.
Oversee stock control and maintain accurate inventory records and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Work with the design team on product updates and manage the smooth process for
introducing new products
.
Maintain production documentation and reporting, utilizing data to track key performance indicators.
Support and guide the production team, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Skills and Experience
Experience in production/manufacturing or operations management.
Strong technical background in engineering, electronics or hardware production is essential.
Proven ability to implement and manage
process improvement methods
and optimisation.
Experience with
Quality Control (QC) standards
and testing procedures relevant to electronic products.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with confidence using planning tools and interpreting production data.
Able to lead a team and communicate clearly.
Comfortable working both at a desk and hands-on on the workshop floor.
Demonstrated experience or deep interest in hands-on making, product design, or manufacturing processes (from professional experience or hobbies).

Location - City Business Park, Bristol, BS5
Hours - 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, 35hrs (full-time) or 28hrs (part-time) per week
Salary - 30k+ depending on experience
