Job Description

Job Objective:



To manage all production activities effectively, ensuring operational capabilities are aligned with production demands. This includes overseeing resource planning, process implementation, and maintaining performance standards across safety, quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee end-to-end CNC machining workflows, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards. Develop, implement, and optimize machining processes, including tool path programming, fixture setups, and machine parameter adjustments to maximize throughput and minimize cycle times. Schedule and prioritize operations based on job complexity, machine availability, and resource allocation. Monitor machine performance and program execution in real time, quickly identifying and resolving any deviations or errors. Lead troubleshooting efforts on CNC machines and programming issues, driving corrective and preventive actions to reduce scrap and rework. Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure machines maintain required tolerances and uptime. Leverage machining software platforms to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs that enhance production efficiency and ensure high part quality.

Technical Leadership & Team Development



Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to CNC programmers and operators on programming techniques, machine setup, and machining best practices. Lead root cause analysis for machining defects, implement corrective actions, and document outcomes in compliance with quality systems. Collaborate with engineering and CAD/CAM teams to validate CNC programs, ensuring manufacturability and accuracy. Facilitate communication between production, quality, and maintenance teams to promptly resolve machining issues and enhance process reliability.

Health, Safety & Compliance



Ensure operations comply with all health and safety regulations, including safe machine operation, tooling handling, and ergonomic practices. Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on operator safety, machining precision, and waste reduction. Maintain adherence to company and industry safety standards, environmental policies, and waste management procedures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Partner with engineering and design teams on prototype runs, process validation, and scale-up projects. Report production performance metrics, technical challenges, and improvement plans to senior management. Support internal and external quality audits, maintain proper documentation, and drive corrective actions as required.

Skills & Competencies



Extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes, programming, and machine setup Proficiency in CNC programming software and tool path optimization Strong understanding of tooling, fixture design, and machining parameters Skilled in troubleshooting programming issues Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD/CAM models Experience with root cause analysis and Lean manufacturing principles Leadership skills with experience training and developing CNC teams Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Experience & Training



Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field Proven experience managing production environments, including programming and operations Demonstrated ability to optimize processes and improve quality and efficiency Knowledge of machining materials, tooling, and inspection techniques Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or industry equivalents Completion of relevant safety training and certifications Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification preferred
