We are Ribble Farm, a thriving business with over 50 years of history and who have doubled turnover in the last 5 years . Based in Longridge just off the M6, we supply a wide range of products to a fantastic customer base that includes restaurants, hotels, schools, arenas and large sporting clubs. Our coverage spans across the north of England with pockets in the south.
We work with a number of local and international suppliers in order to make sure we source the finest products on the market, from basic vegetables and dry goods up to the most exotic ingredients for our customers dishes'. Once received, they make their way through our multi-temperature supply chain to ensure the customer is receiving the highest quality of product available.
Purpose of the Position:
This position is to manage our Prep Room, where we produce over 100 lines in both low & high care on-site. It is being created to build the infrastructure to facilitate our continued growth.
Oversee all operational activities across two shift pattens.
Ensure the efficient, safe and cost- effective production process.
Prepare and review product specifications in accordance to company policy, and in conjunction with the Technical Manger.
Assist the commercial team in producing and analysing production costs.
Arrange and review all microbiology testing.
Communicate with the procurement department with all weekly and monthly stock requirements.
Ensure high levels of production cleanliness is maintained.
Oversee all external audits.
Encourage an all-inclusive workplace, including managing more than one nationality of person.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet organisational targets and quality standards.
Implement process improvements and continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workflow.
Manage supply chain logistics to ensure timely procurement of materials and minimise production delays.
Supervise assembly lines and ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory requirements.
Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and develop corrective actions.
Prepare all relevant technical paperwork across all shifts.
Overall responsibility for maintaining equipment register, booking maintenance calls, and general repairs and renewals, following the company's PO authorisation procedure.
Order all consumables as required to maintain continual production from the company's preferred supplier base, following the company's PO authorisation procedure.
Maintain/book training requirements for all employees.
Program raw material requirements with suppliers/procurement using the company's preferred ordering program.
Maintain a full traceability system from GI to finished product.
Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed correctly, daily/weekly/monthly, as necessary.
Assist in production.
With the support of the management team plan annual budgets.
Develop and empower the team to maintain a multi-skilled workforce.
Recruitment of new staff after authorization.
Continuously monitor and actively attempt to reduce waste.
