This hands-on role is all about results, safety and drive. We are looking for someone who preferably has a manufacturing background, who can lead a dynamic team. This is a proactive job, providing a key role in driving efficiency, safety, quality and team performance.
As a Production Manager you will be responsible for supervising the manufacturing team and ensuring production targets are met with the highest efficiency and quality standards.
You will actively contribute to continuous improvements initiatives and create a safe, motivated and results driven work environment.
Responsible for monitoring and evaluating manufacturing performance from a Manufacturing standpoint, as well as providing hands on leadership.
Responsible for the analysis of daily, monthly and annual performance efficiency to establish accurate manufacturing costs, overhead recovery, quality and training.
To implement several improvements in order to support and facilitate growth.
Responsible for performance, quality control and cost improvements. In essence you will deliver a track record of manufacturing business growth.
Responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of the business.
Responsible for contributing to a safe, clean and tidy workplace, assisting team members with their queries, carrying out reasonable management requests to support other teams and task.
You will play an instrumental part within the local management team; it is therefore essential you feel confident with manufacturing operation of lean and continuous improvement techniques.
You will be managing end to end production delivery and indirectly a large multi-skilled team. You will quickly need to understand our products and processes, develop trusted and like-minded team leaders and have a background in making time critical commercially astute decisions.
Identify, develop and implement improvements by working closely with the General Manager.
With responsibility for safety and equipment maintenance you will need to plan training and PPM the production plan with close liaison with HR and the maintenance engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing manufacturing and production processes
Responsible for all Health & Safety practices
Management of all BOMs
Supervise & support the team, ensuring health and safety requirements.
Execute the production plan efficiently, maintaining high standards.
Take the lead on all production planning and staff allocation.
Supervise and Liaising with Production Leads on raising and managing works orders
Drive process improvements to enhance safety output & performance.
Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control
Take the lead on stock processes, control and rolling stock takes
Identify training needs & support team development.
Lead by example and step in for production tasks as required.
What we're looking for:
Strong Leadership & Team Management Skills, experience of managing large teams.
Experience in Manufacturing/product environment. Proven background in a high-volume, hands-on manufacturing role with strong experience in motivating and developing teams.
A good knowledge of health and safety and quality control procedures (eg IOSH managing safely or recent in-house training).
Excellent communication skills and organisational abilities.
Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvements.
A working knowledge of SAP or ERP system would be advantageous.
GCSE Maths and English (A - C) or equivalent
