K Fresh, an egg production specialist, are actively seeking an experienced Laying Farm Production Manager to oversee their daily operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
The role requires strong leadership skills to manage a small production team, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate across various departments to meet organisational goals. The Production Manager will play a vital part in maintaining efficient workflows, enhancing product quality, and driving operational excellence within the organisation.
Responsibilities
Operate as part of the poultry team to maintain the highest standards of welfare
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of production activities to meet quality & efficiency standards.
Utilise production recording systems to monitor production levels, performance levels, and supply chain logistics.
Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance.
Liaise with Quality control operatives to help ensure products meet specified standards and customer expectations.
Manage & maintain mechanical equipment, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimise material flow and minimise downtime.
Implement continuous improvement strategies by analysing production data and identifying areas for enhancement.
Supervise a team of production staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to foster a motivated workforce.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Experience/Skill Required
Proven experience in managing livestock &/or production management within a similar industry.
Strong work ethic & a keen attention to detail.
Leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse teams effectively.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery and assembly processes.
Experience in quality control procedures and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Eagerness to take on responsibility & problem solving.
Strong organisational skills.
