The Role

Reporting to the Production/Operations Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our production area--ensuring output remains efficient, safe, and aligned with strict fire door manufacturing standards. You'll play a key part in maintaining workflow, improving processes, and supporting the team to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and motivate a small production team to deliver high-quality fire door products on time and to specification. Oversee daily production schedules, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and problem-solving. Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring compliance with all site and industry requirements. Monitor performance, quality, and productivity, identifying and implementing improvements where needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and quality enhancements. Ensure all manufacturing processes follow relevant fire door and doorset regulations. Work closely with the Procurement and Operations leadership teams to support smooth workflow and customer satisfaction. Handle staffing matters such as training, development, and performance reviews.

About You

Experience in a Production Manager or Team Leader role within manufacturing (joinery or timber preferred but not essential). Strong people-management and communication skills with a hands-on, supportive approach. Good understanding of production planning, workflow management, and quality control. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Naturally proactive, organised, and committed to continuous improvement.
