An opportunity has arisen to join a successful manufacturing company, based on Flixborough Industrial Estate.

Omni-Pac Group UK is looking for a Production Manager to lead the manufacturing environment within the organisation, plan, monitor and develop the complete production cycle through to dispatch. To build and maintain a loyal, committed, skilled workforce that is focused on efficiency as well as maintaining high levels of attention to detail and quality standards in all areas of production over 24/7 operation.

Role Overview



To lead the manufacturing environment within the organisation, plan, monitor and develop the complete production cycle through to dispatch. To build and maintain a loyal, committed, skilled workforce that is focused on efficiency as well as maintaining high levels of attention to detail and quality standards in all areas of production over 24/7 operation.

Main Areas of Responsibility



Reporting into the Operations Manager, your key areas of responsibility will include team structures and development, production processes, production efficiencies, product development, equipment/ resource planning, health and safety and performance/ target management (OEE).

Principle Activities



Overseeing production and coordinating associated departments (Pulping, Production and Packing) at our Flixborough and Foxhills site.

Analysing the planning process for the production team. Establishing conditions of production to meet agreed quality specifications (BRC). Leading and coordinating lean and 5S practices and knowledge within the production environment. Enforcing a comprehensive suite of SOPs for the main manufacturing process within the factory environment. Agreeing, direct and monitoring short, medium -term operating strategies and facility plans. Drive best practice and implement changes to ensure that quality and efficiency goals are consistently met. Organising and directing workflow systems to sustain efficiency. Investigating and analysing new production methods and processes. Maintaining effective relationships with key equipment suppliers. Set KPI's to achieve performance improvement objectives. Performing analysis of statistical data and determing optimum control levels. Liaising with the sales team to plan and predict production demands in the short term. Responding to customer concerns regarding finished products. Proactively responding to issues raised by the QA team, identifying route causes, and implementing solutions. Managing and improving communications between production and wider teams. To assess and develop existing staff capability in line with production needs, taking firm action to address under performance issues. Advising on a training and development program which will raise skill levels. To monitor and take action to minimise labor costs.

Demonstrate sound decision-making skills Leadership ability Manageable - able to take direction from senior management and implement priorities Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategy Good communication skills and be able to establish and maintain effective contact with staff and key partners, suppliers and contractors. Problem solving and conflict management Know how to delegate work effectively IT literate, capable of using MS Word/ Excel and office packages Able to work under pressure, to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
