The Production Supervisor in Powder Screening & Brazing Accessories oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This role is responsible for supervising production staff, coordinating workflows, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring production targets are met within budget and timeline constraints.

The Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Powder Screening and Brazing Accessories Team and be responsible for People, Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery for powder manufacture.

This is a key role in the organisation to ensure that procedures and manufacturing process are followed correctly in all aspects of powder, paste and accessories production. It is the Supervisor's role to promote these concepts with the Operators by leading by example and setting a high standard.

The Supervisor role will report directly into the Operations Manager of Alloy Products.

The Supervisor will be expected to complete the following tasks, but will not be limited to:

Responsibilities:



Implement the Health and Safety procedures for the Department, ensuring all team members follow the safe systems of work. Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Maintain and lead Risk Assessment activities within the Department. Conduct and lead investigations into safety or quality incidents and drive improvement activities to prevent reoccurrence. Ensure environmental guidelines are followed. Act as the primary information source for the Team, maintaining compliance and consistency, and taking corrective action when needed. Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing downtime. Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Interpret the production plan and prioritise production to effectively utilise resources to deliver the plan on time and in full. Communicate with all internal functions to ensure on time, in full delivery of the production schedule. Coordinate with maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics to ensure smooth operations. Identify and suggest continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, efficiency, and quality. Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods as required. Effectively and efficiently utilise and manage all available labour, materials, and consumables across the production function. Motivate and mentor team members to achieve business and personal targets to achieve success whilst identifying gaps within skills. Ownership of both the Powder Screening and Brazing Accessories training matrices. Ensure all members of the team have received the relevant and adequate training to carry out their role. Supervise, train, and coach the Team. Monitor and manage attendance and time keeping across all operations areas and act when necessary. Ensure product quality through the effective use of the quality management system, procedures, and standard operating processes. Update, monitor and report on daily and weekly KPIs for both the Powder Screening and Brazing Accessories departmental measures. Generate monthly reports, trend analysis with gaps in performance metrics and lead corrective actions. Maintain accurate production records, reports, and shift documentation. Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate targets, updates, and safety reminders. Lead communications with team leaders to promote best working practice in all production areas to achieve effectiveness, control, and efficiency. Attend daily production meetings to provide relevant updates on manufacturing targets, Continuous Improvement developments, H+S or quality concerns. Lead improvement projects within the area to ensure that the most efficient and effective processes are utilised. Ensure good standards of housekeeping and storage are maintained within both areas across all shift patterns. Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and managed as required such as holidays, return to work, safety records, production records, non-conformance reports, and that these are communicated appropriately. Plan shift rotas for the department ensuring appropriate First Aid and Fire Marshall cover.

Ideally Lean Principles experience gained in a manufacturing environment.

Strong presentation skills.

Excellent IT and communication skills.

Ideally a Certificate in Management - NVQ in Team Leading/ Supervising.

The Supervisor will be asked to perform additional tasks and projects which are not noted in this document which the Operations Manager will deem fit.

Hours of work - 38 hours - Day shift

Salary dependent on experience..
