A Financial Services client of ours is undertaking a major global network transformation to modernise their infrastructure and enable faster, more secure connectivity across 17 international sites. The programme will replace the existing wide-area network with a high-speed, cloud-optimised Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) solution.
We are seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to oversee the full lifecycle of this initiative. From supplier selection and contract award through to implementation and transition into business-as-usual support. The role requires strong delivery governance, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management skills, with a focus on delivering measurable performance improvement, resilience, and future-ready security architecture.
Key Objectives
Manage the end-to-end delivery of the SD-WAN and network modernisation programme.
Oversee the supplier RFP process, ensuring alignment with Clients technical and commercial objectives.
Coordinate design, implementation, and rollout activities across all global offices.
Ensure the new network solution is scalable, secure, and aligned to CLIENTS Azure platform strategy and future Zero-Trust principles.
Deliver the programme on time, within budget, and with minimal business disruption.
Core Responsibilities
Programme Management & Governance
Develop and maintain the programme plan, milestones, and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log.
Manage delivery across all phases: initiation, procurement, design, pilot, deployment, and transition.
Report progress to the Infrastructure leadership team and executive stakeholders via structured governance routines.
Maintain strong financial control, ensuring supplier costs, dependencies, and change requests are tracked and approved.
Supplier & Procurement Management
Lead the RFP and supplier-selection process (Q1/Q2 2026).
Coordinate supplier Q&A, proposal evaluation, and contract negotiation in partnership with Procurement and Legal.
Ensure vendor responsibilities, SLAs, and handover deliverables are clearly defined and governed.
Manage third-party relationships throughout design, deployment, and early life support.
Technical Delivery Coordination
Work closely with Network, Cloud, and Security teams to align SD-WAN design with CLIENTS Azure Landing Zone architecture.
Oversee planning and deployment of site connectivity upgrades, SD-WAN devices, and local Internet services.
Support integration of VPN and virtual WAN components across Azure regions and third-party connections.
Ensure designs include robust resiliency, monitoring, and scalability features.
Risk, Security & Compliance
Identify and mitigate risks relating to service continuity, data protection, and supplier performance.
Ensure network and infrastructure changes meet internal security standards and audit requirements.
Collaborate with Information Security to prepare for future Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) enablement.
Stakeholder & Change Management
Act as primary point of contact between technical teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
Communicate status, risks, and impacts clearly and consistently across all regions.
Support change management, ensuring local IT teams and end-users are informed and prepared for transitions.
Key Deliverables
Project Charter and detailed delivery plan
Supplier evaluation matrix and recommendation report
Ensure design documentation and deployment roadmaps are delivered on time.
Jointly produce deployment roadmap with 3rd party supplier
Rollout completion across all sites with operational handover to BAU support
Post-implementation review and benefits realisation report
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts (WAN, SD-WAN, connectivity, cloud integration).
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
Proficiency in project governance, risk management, and financial control.
Comfortable operating in hybrid delivery models (Agile/Waterfall).
PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent certification.
Previous experience in financial services or regulated environments.
