We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our defence team.


Reporting into the Senior Programme Manager, you'll lead and manage the successful delivery of a number of projects working across various MTC technology themes and industry sectors.

Your responsibilities will include

Ensure customer needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project proposals. Liaise with resource owners / team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope. Manage any changes to project scope via the recognised "Change Request" process. Act as champion for BMS project management processes, tools & techniques. Contribute to continuous improvement activities relates to PM tools and processes.

Who we're looking for




We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with proven experience of managing multiple projects concurrently.

This role will also require somebody



With a clear leadership style and the ability to direct others to achieve project success. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to articulate effectively at all levels of the business. Numerate with a strong focus on financial management. An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others. Ability to identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders. Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience



Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel. Association of Project Management (APM) qualification (or willingness to work towards achieving this accredited qualification).

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry - often referred to as 'the valley of death'.


It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and, after four years of planning and a 16 month build, the facility opened at Ansty Park in Coventry at the end of 2011.


In December 2011, there were 16 industrial members, 44 staff and just a few key pieces of equipment in the 'workshop'.


Over the following seven years the MTC's rapid growth has seen the expansion of our campus with the construction of three more facilities, including the opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre and the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing.


Our role has also increased to cover not only R&D but also Training, Advanced Manufacturing Management and Factory Design.


We now have over 700 talented employees working with us.


During this time we have helped hundreds of companies across a range of industries and over 100 of them have become members of the MTC.
