Job Description

Your new role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Project Manager to lead key operational,

logistical, and customer experience initiatives within The Sofa Delivery Co's Optimise

agenda. You'll play a vital role in driving improvements that streamline delivery times, reduce costs, and elevate customer satisfaction all while championing our Better Never Stops culture across the business.

You'll also contribute to transformative projects within our Evolve agenda, supporting

medium- and long-term goals such as our "fewer, bigger sites" strategy. In this role, you'll

help shape the future of our operations and ensure every initiative delivers on our promise of Delivering Moments That Matter for our customers.

What you'll be doing

Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Optimise agenda, from planning

through to implementation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including warehouse, delivery, customer

service, and tech to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Develop and execute detailed project plans outlining timelines, milestones, resource

requirements, and risk assessments.

Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery rates, NPS, order

completion times, and returns/damages.

Provide regular progress updates, insights, and results to leadership and key

stakeholders.

Manage budgets and allocate resources efficiently to maximise project outcomes.

Foster a Better Never Stops mindset by embedding sustainable improvements

across systems, processes, and ways of working.

Ensure all initiatives remain customer-focused and aligned with our purpose of

Delivering Moments That Matter.

Partner with operational teams to embed changes and realise measurable benefits.

Contribute to medium- and long-term projects within the Evolve agenda, working

closely with the Senior Project Manager.

Support initiatives such as the fewer, bigger sites programme, driving efficiency and

scalability across operations.

Proactively bring forward ideas, insights, and recommendations that help the

business evolve, adapt, and stay ahead of customer expectations.

Project Management & Delivery

Define clear project scopes, business cases, and delivery plans with robust

governance and transparent reporting.

Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful project

outcomes.

Engage and align stakeholders across the business to secure commitment and

shared ownership of results.

Deliver initiatives efficiently and on time, creating measurable value for both the

business and our customers.

Leadership & Collaboration

Lead by example, embodying The Sofa Delivery Co's values and championing our

Better Never Stops culture and Delivering Moments That Matter purpose.

Coach and support colleagues to strengthen project management and change

delivery capability across teams.

Collaborate with the wider leadership team to ensure all initiatives align with strategic

goals and operational priorities.

The role is for you if...

Proven project management and change delivery expertise, with the ability to

manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Highly analytical and data-driven, capable of turning insights into practical,

results-oriented solutions.

Strong understanding of The Sofa Delivery Co's operations, ideally gained

through experience within the CDC Operational Team.

Skilled in building strong internal networks and applying continuous

improvement methodologies to identify opportunities, eliminate waste, and

reduce operating costs.

Accountable for ensuring all initiatives are delivered effectively, consistently,

and sustainably across the CDC network -- including smooth handover of

projects into operational teams.

Able to balance short-term operational improvements with contributions to

longer-term strategic goals.

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to

build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Strong problem-solving, organisational, and planning abilities, with a

structured and methodical approach to delivery.

Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving

environment.

Experience in project management, logistics, or operations, ideally within e-

commerce, furniture, or last-mile delivery.

Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, from

inception to completion.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to

influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into

actionable recommendations that drive decision-making.

Exposure to medium- and long-term change programmes, such as operating model

development, ESG, or sustainability initiatives.

Well-developed project management toolkit -- formal qualifications such as

PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent are desirable.

In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, particularly within

furniture or bulky-item delivery environments.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and related logistics

technologies.

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with

senior stakeholders.

Experience scaling operations in startup or high-growth environments, balancing

agility with structure.

Comfortable managing ambiguity and delivering outcomes in complex, fast-paced

settings.

Demonstrates professional credibility, clear communication, and strong influencing

skills.

Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of

simplifying complex information for diverse audiences.

Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to assess the business
