We are looking for a Project Manager to work as part of the Programme Management Team and the wider Operations Team working out of our Rail & Technology hub at Trax Park, Doncaster or alternatively the succesful candidate can be based at one of our other locations in Crewe or Southport. The Project Manager (PjM) will be accountable for the execution and day to day management of business critical complex strategic projects (eg. Yellow Plant, Localisation, Infrastructure, T&RS) in the Rail sector. Accountable for making daily decisions on the project parameters, processes and project execution to ensure the successful delivery of the project, on-time, on-schedule and on-quality.
This will require effective influencing skills to engage the right people, in the right way, at the right time. The PjM will be delivering products and solutions in a highly regulated environment and is expected to critically drive projects over the line in a consistent manner in accordance with the Project Management governance and processes ensuring both the client's needs and Unipart Rail's targets for sales, profit and growth are met. Principally focused in the UK Rail markets, this position will require both local and international travel, sometimes at short notice, as and when required.
Qualifications & Education
Degree qualified in either; Project Management, Engineering, or similar
Formal professional Project Management qualification is required (PMI, APM)

Skilled in people management

Effective networking and influencing skills
Proven experience in gaining product approval in rail or another regulated sector
Understanding of risk, issue and opportunity management
Application of the highest ethical standards in all dealings and transactions
IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft & Google software packages
Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills
Strong team player
Communicate well within a team and be able to negotiate in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Manages time to ensure delivery to customer deadlines
Valid Driving Licence
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge of Microsoft Project (MSP) or equivalent
Knowledge of the rail industry and Engineering
