Project/Contracts Manager (Civil Engineering/Groundworks)

Alto Construct is a privately-owned, independent civil engineering contractor. We undertake a diverse range of civil engineering projects on a nationwide basis.

Due to a significant increase in workload, we are looking for a Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager at Alto Construct you will oversee a number of live projects, to ensure they are completed safely, to programme and are profitable, whilst also meeting our exacting quality standards.

You will have a base at our Head Office in Morley, Leeds, but you will be predominantly out visiting the sites within your remit and as such, travel is very much part of the role.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

Extensive experience overseeing multiple civil engineering/groundworks projects. The ability to effectively manage Site Managers, getting the best out of them and supporting them to deliver their projects successfully. Experience of preparing a range of health and safety documentation, such as, RAMS, Lifting Plans, Traffic Management Plans etc. As well as carrying out internal site safety audits and providing support to site teams in developing a positive health and safety culture. A commitment to delivering exceptional standards of quality for our clients, ensuring all works are constructed in accordance with drawings and technical specifications. Experience of using quality management software, such as Field View, would be desirable, but not essential. Experience of preparing programmes and tracking progress, assisting with the resourcing of projects, where necessary. An understanding of the commercial aspects of project delivery, working closely with our commercial team to ensure that projects are profitable and fully compliant with the contract conditions. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting, successful relationships with clients, suppliers, other contractors and personnel. A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to support our site teams in developing this approach across all projects. An appropriate CSCS card. A full driving licence, as travel is part of the role.
