We are a small family run business who are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager who has experience within the UK gas utility industry to oversee and manage various metal pipework projects. It is essential that the ideal candidate possess a strong background in pipework/welding fabrication in the UK gas industry. Who has previous project management to lead teams, coordinate resources, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Duties
Plan and manage projects to include pricing, material sourcing, scheduling, and overall management for jobs that cost from 200 up to 1 million.
Coordinate with clients, internal teams and external contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise.
Prepare project documentation and reports including Project Databooks.
Promote health and safety compliance across all projects.
Show clear and visible leadership and display the right leadership behaviours.
Develop and support the operational teams to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly.
Implement quality control measures to ensure projects meet industry standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience in Project Management for welding fabrication within the gas utility sector.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work under pressure due to scope of works changes.
Educated to Degree level is an advantage but not essential.
Experience of working within the UK Gas Industry is essential.
Knowledge and experience of UK welding practices and procedures is essential.
Competent in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Project.
Project Management Experience: 2 years minimum (preferred).
A company van will be provided.
Candidate must be able to attend office daily at LS28 6BN.
