This is a hands-on role with responsibility for managing the
entire development lifecycle
, from
planning and pre-construction
, through
on-site delivery
, to
practical completion and handover
. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
This position suits a commercially aware, organised self-starter who is comfortable operating at both a
strategic and site level
.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the
Managing Director
to deliver multiple residential and commercial developments simultaneously
Manage projects from
planning and design stage
through to
construction, completion, and handover
Coordinate and manage external consultants including planners, architects, engineers, and surveyors
Oversee contractor procurement, tendering, and appointment
Manage on-site programmes, sequencing, and logistics
Monitor budgets, cost control, variations, and cashflow in conjunction with the commercial team
Ensure compliance with planning conditions, building regulations, and health & safety requirements
Chair project meetings and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and programme
Identify and resolve issues impacting programme, cost, or quality
Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, consultants, and contractors
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience delivering
residential and/or commercial development projects
Strong understanding of the
UK planning and construction process
Experience managing multiple stakeholders and consultants
Solid commercial awareness with experience in cost and programme management
Confident communicator, able to operate at senior level and on site
Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Desirable (but not essential)
Formal project management or construction qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, CIOB, RICS, or similar)
Background in development, main contracting, or consultancy
Experience managing projects from land acquisition or planning stage
