Mechanical Estimator

50,000 - 55,000 plus car allowance or vehicle
The Project Manager is responsible for leading Mechanical & Electrical projects on occasion also as Principal Contractor, ensuring delivery to programme, cost, quality, and safety standards. The role provides day-to-day leadership of project teams, manages subcontractors and suppliers, and ensures compliance with contractual and statutory obligations. The Project Manager is accountable for structured handover to clients, with a focus on safe, on-time, and on-budget outcomes.

Project Delivery & Leadership

Take overall responsibility for project delivery sometimes as Principal Contractor. Lead the project team and chair regular progress meetings with stakeholders. Deliver projects to agreed programme, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

Planning & Procurement

Build and manage the project procurement plan. Plan labour, access, and deliveries, protecting prelims and maximising productivity. Ensure timely subcontractor and supplier engagement to meet programme milestones.

Commercial & Change Control - in conjunction with the CCD

Operate project change control and claims processes in collaboration with the Commercial & Controls Director. Manage variations and applications, tracking delay and disruption evidence. Monitor project costs, forecasting outcomes, and escalating risks early.

Quality, Testing & Commissioning

Manage testing, commissioning, and client approvals. Ensure structured and complete handover documentation. Drive quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Lead the delivery team, ensuring compliance at all stages. Act as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations, ensuring compliance at all stages. Promote a culture of safety and ensure proactive hazard identification and mitigation. Ensure all works meet statutory, regulatory, and ARH Group standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience in managing or supervising M&E projects in commercial, industrial, or retail environments. Demonstrable experience as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent commercial awareness and contract management knowledge (NEC/JCT preferred). Experience in planning labour, access, and logistics. Strong background in testing, commissioning, and structured handover of projects. Proficient in MS Project (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, and CAFM tools.
