Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of community projects, programmes and performances across The People's Orchestra Charity and its affiliated programmes. This role looks to ensure seamless project delivery within budget and designated schedules, whilst upholding the organisation's creative vision and community values. This role will promote our charities values throughout careful operational planning and clear communication, ensuring activities delivered achieve maximum impact in our local communities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery:
Planning, scheduling, and delivery of charity projects, spanning across public musical performances, digital initiatives, community interest projects and international excursions.
Coordinate event logistics including venues, suppliers and performers.
Develop and track project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficiency and value for money.
Manage risk assessments, health and safety documentation, and event compliance requirements.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement, Monitoring and Evaluation:
Liaise with artistic leads, community partners, funding bodies, and external collaborators.
Represent TPO at project meetings, rehearsals, and events as required.
Maintain accurate records, project plans, and outcome reports.
Contribute to funding evaluation, data collection, and impact storytelling. Provide timely updates and analysis to support organisational decision?making and reporting requirements.
Financial & Administrative Support:
Prepare and track budgets for individual projects and events.
Support procurement and ensure appropriate financial control and documentation.
Work closely with the CEO and office team to align project delivery with strategic goals.
Assist in training, briefing, and managing event support staff and volunteers.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience managing projects in arts, charity, events, or community sectors.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple deadlines.
Experience in budget management and supplier coordination.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive approach with strong problem?solving and decision?making abilities.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
Good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and event licensing processes.
Desirable:
Experience with funding applications or reporting to grant bodies.
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and project management tools.
