The main objective of the role within Imperial College Projects (IPROJ) sub-team in the Consultancy and Services of Enterprise Division is to provide day-to-day management and support for a portfolio of projects, including but not limited to research and commercial projects. The post-holder will also lead on the development of proposals and commercial tenders with relevant funding bodies
Consultancy and Services is an integral part of Imperial's Enterprise Division, which provides commercial project management services through IPROJ and supports the development and management of large consortia research projects. The group also provides consultancy to support the academic mission of helping organisations, large and small, find solutions to their business needs. The work of Enterprise Division directly underpins Imperial's mission, thereby supporting the development of new or enhanced research, education and/or translation capabilities across all faculties of the university and on behalf of Imperial's academic community.

What you would be doing

You will work closely with the Head of IPROJ and manage projects through working alongside other members of the IPROJ team to provide an efficient project management service, including project delivery and manage the development of proposals and associated bid management activities.
Your role will include managing the interface with key academic staff, supporting contracts and administrative staff as well as representatives from client/customer organisations. You will be a key member in Imperial's Enterprise Division, which is responsible for driving forward strategically important commercial opportunities for Imperial.

This role requires you to have good organisation skills and flexibility to manage multiple projects to a high degree of stakeholder satisfaction. You will be interfacing with academic staff and professional services teams, so an ability to relate with a range of people at all levels will see you succeed. In addition, the following experience is essential:
Lead and manage the delivery of project management services for public and commercial clients. This will involve working with key academic leads on projects and managing the interface with client/customer organisations.
Maintain up-to-date information on project progress using appropriate project enterprise software, ensuring projects deliver according to objectives, milestones and deliverables, timescale and within budget.
Manage and monitor project budgets and variations and ensure efficient communication on financial issues with all collaborating partners.
