As a Project Manager, you'll lead and deliver a wide range of initiatives that support Fera's 5-year Strategic Plan. You may be involved in projects such as facility construction and refurbishment, implementing new systems and technologies, launching new products, improving operational efficiency, strengthening environmental or regulatory compliance, or supporting merger and acquisition activity. Whatever the focus, you'll play a key part in driving successful outcomes for the organisation and advancing Fera's scientific and operational goals.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and managing projects independently in line with organisational goals and values.
Owning day-to-day project delivery, including revenue, costs and performance within agreed constraints.
Defining clear deliverables and ensuring they are met to time, cost and quality.
Maintaining strong governance, including RAID logs, documentation and regular project reporting.
Identifying, assessing and managing risks, actions, issues, decisions and lessons learned.
Reporting progress to the Executive Project Sponsor and Steering Group.
Engaging, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
Building strong working relationships to ensure alignment and remove delivery barriers.
Supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues in good project management practice.
What we're looking for:
Strong understanding and application of project management methodologies across all project stages.
Confident communicator able to engage, influence and report clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Skilled in project planning, budgeting, and use of planning tools, including managing RAID logs.
Proven ability to manage multiple medium-to-large projects and deliver to time, cost and quality.
Ability to break down complex concepts into actionable plans and drive progress.
Experienced in coordinating stakeholders, maintaining visibility of progress, and escalating risks appropriately.
Capable of producing strong business cases and supporting benefits realisation.
Understanding of regulated environments with the ability to maintain compliance.
Strategic thinker with strong ownership, problem-solving skills and ability to embed change.
Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues in project management practices.
PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification would be beneficial.
