Property Underwriter
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis
Location: This role is based in our London office, but we offer flexibility of hybrid working between office and home

The opportunity:
We are looking for a Junior Underwriter to join our Commercial Property Underwriting team on a permanent basis. If you share our passion for putting customers first and our relentless desire to meet their expectations, this role could be for you!
You will join a team of experienced underwriters working with domestic and international customers, providing a variety of insurance solutions through retail London Market broker distribution channels. This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to progress their underwriting career and develop global underwriting skills.
Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. What will you be doing?

• Use Zurich's cutting-edge digital tools and analytics to assess and price property risks, helping protect what matters most to our customers
• Take ownership of your own cases and support senior underwriters with complex domestic and international business
• Build strong relationships with customers and brokers, representing Zurich with confidence and professionalism
• Spot new opportunities and drive growth across the London Market
• Work closely with teams in Risk Engineering, Distribution, Account Management, Claims, and more - collaboration is at the heart of what we do
• Support portfolio analysis and help shape strategic decisions for our property business
• Champion efficiency, innovation, and digital transformation, pushing Zurich's digitisation agenda forward
• Listen to broker and customer needs and help create solutions that truly make a difference
• Deliver results and help us achieve our financial and underwriting goals
• Be a role model for Zurich's values - putting customers at the centre, simplifying and innovating, and building a positive, supportive team culture

What are we looking for?

• Experience in property underwriting (London Market or Global Programmes knowledge is a plus)
• Excellent relationship-building and management skills
• Confidence in assessing risk and making sound decisions
• Proactive approach to a varied workload and new challenges
• Strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills
• Cert or DiP CII qualified, or actively working towards accreditation
