Job Purpose:

The Purchase controller will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of the organisation, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of goods and services in line with budget, quality, and delivery expectations. The role involves strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best value in terms of quality, price, terms, and delivery. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues regarding supply, quality, or invoicing. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important procurement data. Ensure timely and cost-efficient procurement of materials, goods, and services. Forecast procurement needs and manage stock levels in coordination with the inventory team. Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions. Work closely with finance and operations to monitor budgets and cost controls. Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations (e.g., ISO standards, GDPR). Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes to increase efficiency.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong negotiation and communication skills Excellent organisational and analytical abilities Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems (Preferably Xero) Attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple tasks Commercial awareness and cost-saving mindset Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience in a procurement/purchasing/ stock control role.
