We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement processes within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential to our operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organisational skills and experience in supply chain management, ERP systems, and logistics. The Purchasing Manager will play a vital role in optimising procurement activities to support the company's overall objectives.
Duties
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organisational goals.
Manage supplier relationships to secure the best quality, price, and delivery terms.
Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements with vendors, ensuring favourable terms.
Utilise ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and analyse procurement data.
Coordinate logistics to ensure the efficient movement of goods from suppliers to company facilities.
Monitor market trends and stay informed about new products or alternative sourcing options.
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs and optimise stock levels.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information for audit purposes.
Requirements
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS is essential.
Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous terms.
Familiarity with logistics operations and supply chain optimisation strategies.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with suppliers and internal teams.
A degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
