We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of stock and supplies across our group businesses, ensuring quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery to support operations and growth.
Job Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with new and existing suppliers (local and international)
Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier relationships
Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely reordering based on sales trends and forecasts
Ensure all purchased products meet company quality standards and compliance regulations
Track deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and liaise with warehouse and logistics teams
Conduct market research to identify new products, vendors, and cost-saving opportunities
Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports on purchasing activities
Collaborate with finance to ensure timely invoicing and payment processing
Assist in developing procurement strategies aligned with company objectives
Person Specification:
Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role (FMCG/wholesale/retail sector preferred)
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of import/export procedures and supplier compliance (desirable)
A degree or certification in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field is an advantage
