We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Qualified Dental Nurse (GDC & minimum 6 months of experience here in UK is required) to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in patient care, dental procedures, and clinical support, with familiarity in various specialties including sedation, implantology, and orthodontics. The role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting dentists during procedures, and maintaining a sterile and efficient clinical environment. Responsibilities
Performing dental procedures, including routine cleanings, restorations, extractions, and complex surgeries
Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained
Manage patient intake, including medical history updates and vital signs documentation
Administer local anesthesia and assist with sedation procedures as required
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Dentrix
Sterilize dental instruments and ensure all clinical areas adhere to infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA standards
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing inventory of dental supplies, and processing billing information
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and provide empathetic support to individuals with special needs or disabilities
Assist with laboratory work including specimen collection/processing when necessary
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Nurse in a fast-paced clinical environment
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Dentrix is preferred
Experience administering injections, local anesthesia, and IV infusions is highly desirable
Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization techniques and aseptic procedures
Background working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring special care such as dementia or Alzheimer's care
Prior experience in specialties like orthodontics, oral surgery, implantology, or sedation dentistry is advantageous
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and diagnostic evaluation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team while maintaining HIPAA compliance
