Vermilion - The Smile Experts is a specialist referral practice with clinics in both Edinburgh and Kelso. We are about to celebrate our 15th birthday, and clinical demand for our services continues to grow. We are looking to add a qualified dental nurse to our amazing nursing team, part time in Kelso.

At Vermilion patients are referred for a full range of complex dentistry including dental implantology, periodontics, dental hygiene, endodontics and oral surgery.

We are very proud of our Vermilion nurses. They are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism and be committed to furthering their skills and knowledge. Training will be provided around sedation, radiography, digital dentistry, clinical photography etc.

Responsibilities of a Dental Nurse:

Keep the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the Clinic's health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions. Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order. Provide chairside assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available Ensure the care and welfare of patients. Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed. Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies. Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance, including PPE. Complete laboratory request forms, keep records of work sent, received and fitted. Ensure adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery.

Pay: 12.00-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
