Responsibilities

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised. Provide high-quality patient care, including explaining procedures, offering reassurance, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments. Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes in compliance with data protection regulations. Prepare treatment rooms before appointments, including setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness standards are met. Support patients with post-treatment instructions and answer any queries they may have regarding their dental care. Adhere to health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using practice management IT systems. Assist with administrative duties as required to support the smooth running of the practice.

Skills

Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting is desirable. Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients. Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain accurate records. Basic IT skills for operating practice management software and digital record systems. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff. A caring attitude combined with professionalism to ensure patients feel comfortable and well-supported during their visits.
