Job Overview: Dual Role - Dental Nurse & Receptionist

We are seeking a versatile, compassionate, and highly organised individual to join our dynamic dental practice in a dual capacity as both Dental Nurse and Receptionist. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in both clinical and front-of-house settings, ensuring seamless patient care from arrival to treatment. Flexibility is key, and while the primary location is our main practice, willingness to travel to our Portsmouth branch once a week would be a great advantage (though not mandatory).

Responsibilities

Clinical (Dental Nurse)

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared. Maintain a sterile and hygienic environment by following infection control protocols. Provide compassionate care by reassuring patients and addressing their concerns. Accurately record patient information and treatment details in dental software. Support inventory management of dental supplies and equipment.

Administrative & Reception

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and patient records with precision. Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries courteously and efficiently. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes. Handle administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence. Uphold patient confidentiality in line with data protection regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dental Nurse. Prior experience in reception or administrative roles within healthcare is preferred. Strong command of English, both written and verbal. Proficient IT skills, including dental software and Microsoft Office. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate approach to patient care and professional handling of sensitive situations. Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection standards. Willingness to travel to our Portsmouth branch once a week is ideal.

Pay: 24,420.00-39,084.67 per year

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
