This is a newly created role to support growth and will operate from the head office but will include site and client visits where necessary.
Ideally, we're looking for a QS who has gained their degree within the last couple of years, with experience working for a Main Contractor.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction/demolition projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Plan, manage and monitor commercial activities to meet project objectives, embedding best practice
Ensure project profit targets are met; manage cash and margin in line with Group processes
Project cost control
across live works and frameworks
Preparing Client Valuations
and
reviewing Sub-Contractor Valuations
Monitoring variations
and pricing change
Negotiation
with clients and sub-contractors
Preparing and issuing tender packs
;
preparing tenders for submission
Review and submit all
Applications for Payment
Review and finalise jobs completed and ready for invoicing
Review and approval of contra charges and cost transfers
Requirements
Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor (ideally within the last 1-3 years)
Main Contractor experience (placements or post-grad) across building, FM or projects environments
Strong business analysis and reporting skills; commercial numeracy and attention to detail
Flexible, willing to take on ad-hoc tasks and assist others during busy periods
Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
