About the role



We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our NZT Power Utilities team. The role will support senior members of the commercial function while also taking responsibility for key commercial duties, including procurement and supply chain management. You will play a central role in managing project costs, driving value, and ensuring our work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.



Typically, a Quantity Surveyor at this level will be chartered or working toward professional membership (RICS, ICES or CIOB) and act as a role model for less experienced team members.



Your base location can be flexible across Leeds, Newcastle, or Redcar, subject to operational needs.

What you'll be doing



Organise information clearly and carry out systematic data checks. Measure, record and value work independently in line with relevant rules and procedures. Review project programmes. Plan commercial activities to align with programme requirements. Understand the impact of delay and disruption on programme performance. Gather information required to specify procurement needs. Understand and document the steps and requirements for procuring suppliers. Manage customer and stakeholder relationships within your area of responsibility. Carry out measurement of works and agreement of valuations with subcontractors. Collate cost and value information. Prepare cost reconciliation statements. Support the development of colleagues within the commercial team. Continue working toward professional chartership with RICS or an equivalent body.
