About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Freelance Quantity Surveyor
to join our team on along-term contract
basis, working across multiple projects in the London area. The successful candidate will play a key role in bothestimating
(tendering for new projects) andsurveying
(managing costs and financial reporting on live projects).This role offers a diverse workload, combining pre-contract estimating responsibilities with post-contract cost management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit
tender estimates
for new projects. Managecost control and reporting
on live projects. Set up and manageprocurement processes
andsubcontractor orders
. Assess, value, and agree variations and interim payments. Preparemonthly cost reports
, forecasts, and final accounts. Liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure financial and contractual compliance. Work underJCT contract
conditions.Requirements
Proven experience as a
Quantity Surveyor
, ideally withinenabling works
orcivil engineering
environments. Strong knowledge ofJCT forms of contract
. Proficiency inestimating
andcost management
software/tools. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work independently as afreelancer
with minimal supervision.Desirable
Experience with
enabling works packages
(e.g., demolition, site clearance, groundworks). Degree-qualified inQuantity Surveying
or related field. Immediate or short notice availability.#
