Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our London based Building Consultancy team operating for a diverse a range of building types with both private and public sector clients. As an ambitious and growing business, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can establish themselves and make a significant contribution to developing this business. Your key responsibilities will include working within the existing cost management team to deliver on projects and provide hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle. Main tasks:

Provide a full Quantity Surveying service to the external clients of Carter Jonas and in house where required. Provide support and advice to other members of the Architecture and Building Consultancy Department and assist with workload sharing where necessary. Involvement in all stages of cost management taking projects from initial feasibility studies and options appraisals, design development, to handover and agreement of the final account together with other cost and commercial matters on a project. Using electronic tools to review and extract information from project information Assistance with report writing.

This job description is not exhaustive, and the jobholder may be required to undertake additional relevant duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the team.

What will it take to be successful?

You will be a chartered quantity surveyor or working towards this with experience gained working either as either a Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor within a professional consultancy environment. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to seek and build relationships with new and existing clients. You will also have excellent time management skills, sound technical competence and good working knowledge of all relevant legislation. You'll also have a clean driving license.
