Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, numbers focused and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our clients construction team due to growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial planning for projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality and high profile construction projects while ensuring financial efficiency and compliance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organisational skills, and experience in cost control.

Experience in working for a Construction Logistics Contractor - Advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
Reporting into Commercial Director.
Central London Based with visits to sites as required for meetings etc...
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
Conduct regular cost analysis and report on financial progress to project managers and stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Ensure Variation Account is recorded and tracked including supporting evidence.
Collaborate with project teams to optimise resource utilisation and minimise costs without compromising quality.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
Support procurement team activities by evaluating supplier quotations and managing procurement schedules.
Skills
Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry or related fields.
Degree Educated
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation and financial reporting.
Good negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel, CostX, or other estimating tools.
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
Knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and contractual procedures. This role is ideal for a motivated professional seeking to develop their career within a dynamic construction environment while contributing significantly to project success through effective cost management.
