Role Overview

J Coffey Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and hands-on Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Reading. This is a key role within our Surface Division, supporting a range of Groundworks, Civils, FRC (Formwork, Reinforcement & Concrete) and Drainage projects.

You'll be responsible for the full commercial management of your projects - from procurement and cost control through to final account - ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget

Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including cost planning, valuations, variations, and final accounts. Oversee subcontractor procurement, payment applications, and contract administration. Provide accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and value management. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure financial performance and compliance. Support continuous improvement across our Groundworks and Civils operations.

Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Groundworks, Civils, and Concrete (FRC) environments Strong understanding of drainage, infrastructure, and surface works Previous experience working on complex or high-security sites (AWE or MOD projects desirable) SC Clearance preferred - candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
