Job Description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor to join our busy Commercial - Complex Facilities team. This is a remote role that will require occasional travel, particularly around North and Central England.


Join our vibrant inclusive community as Quantity surveyor. Working as part of our MOD RAMS contract. The MOD contract is worth over 160m, with an average project cost of around 2,5m.



As the QS, you will be managing multiple projects at any given time, focusing on the facilities management, response and maintenance of the renovations.


Hours of work:

37.5 hours based on Monday - Friday.




What you will do:



Management and resolution of queries submitted by Supply Chain regarding Core Services pricing

Maintain commercial control to enable planned milestone payments are achieved

Monitor and review Supply Chain performance

Manage supplier payments in line with contractual and company policy

Assist in the development and implementation of commercial risk management procedures

Assist Commercial & Risk Manager in preparing dispute avoidance strategy and any dispute resolution

Provide cost advice and support to Additional Services

Ensure good general knowledge of contract processes and procedures are adhered to at all times, advising and supporting as required

Identify business priorities and to plan work effectively, by building controls and milestones into plans and programmes

Comply with business policy and procedures, supporting continual improvement

Support Service Delivery and Additional Services to incorporate sustainable solutions and support the Sustainability programme incorporating the reduction of the carbon footprint and the reduction of utility consumption across the MoD estate

Explore future possibilities and opportunities for improvement, support change initiatives and identify alternative solutions

Ensure compliance with health, safety, sustainability, quality and other statutory requirements

Support Area Relationship Improvement Plan with DIO and area specific supply chain, in line with BS11000 Collaborative Business Relationships



What you will bring:



Commercial QS experience in construction, property maintenance or related field

Experience in developing cost models, Risk Analysis & Management

Preparation of work proposals/tenders

Excellent working knowledge of commercial processes

Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Valuation, Change Management and Fraud prevention experience

Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and a collaborative working environment

Experience of working on complex, multi- site operations

Knowledge of BS11000 Collaborative would be highly desirable
