The Role
We are seeking an experienced motivated
Quantity Surveyor
to support our Senior Construction Manager in delivering a variety of construction and refurbishment projects. The successful candidate will manage all cost-related aspects of the projects, from initial pricing through to final accounts, ensuring value for money and effective financial control.
You will be expected to:
Prepare and price small works and variations.
Procure and place orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare and submit applications for payment and valuations.
Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability.
Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Assist with cost planning, budget preparation, and financial reporting.
Maintain accurate and detailed records for all financial aspects of projects.
Support the Senior Construction Manager in project delivery and commercial decision-making.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
Projects
Projects typically range in value from 5,000 to 3,000,000, including refurbishment, fit-out, and small works across residential, commercial, and public sector clients.
Working hours will be
Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm
, and flexibility with working hours is essential as overtime will be required from time to time.
The Candidate
To be considered for our
Quantity Surveyor
role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Skills and experience
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software (e.g., Excel, Causeway, COINS, or similar).
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Team player with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Qualifications
Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
Membership of RICS or working towards professional accreditation (advantageous).
