We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. Duties
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
Monitor project costs and identify potential overruns, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with financial plans.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favourable terms.
Analyse tenders and assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to each project.
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication regarding costs and budgets.
Prepare detailed reports on financial status, forecasts, and cost variations for senior management.
Experience
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management principles.
Familiarity with relevant software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
