The Role:



Quantity Surveyor Role - Midas Construction (Cheshire) Ltd

As a Quantity Surveyor at Midas Construction (Cheshire) Ltd, you will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery for clients such as Peterson Homes. You will oversee budgets, contracts, and valuations from project inception through to completion, supporting our commitment to quality and value.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for tender submissions and ongoing projects.

Assess and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Monitor project costs, track progress against budgets, and report on financial performance.

Manage valuations, variations, and final accounts, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

Conduct site visits to verify progress and ensure compliance with contract terms.

Identify and manage financial risks, implementing cost-control measures as needed.

Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and external consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.

Advise on procurement strategies and opportunities for value engineering.

Skills and Experience:



Minimum of 7 years experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry, ideally with experience in residential and commercial projects.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards for Construction Contractors.

Proven ability in cost management, contract administration, and financial reporting.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:



Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related field is required.

Membership of a relevant professional body (such as RICS or CIOB) is desirable but not essential.
