We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to budgets.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable prices and terms.
Analyse tenders and assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and documentation related to project costs.
Identify potential cost overruns early and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication regarding financial aspects.
Implement cost control measures to optimise project expenditure without compromising quality or safety.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management in construction projects.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in relevant software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or other estimating tools.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Relevant qualification such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
