This Quantity Surveyor role will be working within a growing, fast moving, young and dynamic design team.
Ideal Experience & Qualifications
3+ years' experience in a QS/Commercial Management/Project Management role within construction.
Experience in EV infrastructure or petrol station construction (preferred but not essential).
Familiarity with UK planning and building control processes.
HNC/HND or degree in Commercial management/QS (desirable).
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong organisational and coordination skills across multiple concurrent projects.
Working knowledge of planning, building regulations, and utility processes (especially electrical).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management (internal and external).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project trackers, and common document control platforms.
Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced rollout or infrastructure delivery environment.
Role Purpose
To support the successful delivery of EV charging hubs and petrol filling station projects by coordinating planning applications, building control submissions, design deliverables, ICP procurement, surveys, and stakeholder interactions. The Construction Project Coordinator acts as a central point between design, planning, procurement, and delivery functions, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is accurately tracked and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning & Regulatory Applications
Prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documents.
Track progress and proactively manage the discharge of planning conditions.
Coordinate with local authorities, planning consultants, and legal advisers.
2. Building Control
Prepare and submit Building Control applications.
Liaise with Building Control bodies and track approvals, amendments, and final certificates.
Ensure all submissions reflect up-to-date design and regulatory standards.
3. Design Team Coordination
Schedule and lead design coordination meetings (internal and external).
Ensure timely delivery of design team.
Maintain version control of design packages and distribute updates to relevant parties.
4. ICP Procurement & Utility Coordination
Support the procurement of ICPs for new EV charging connections.
Track connection application, Point of Connection milestones and road notices / permits.
Coordinate with ICPs on programme-critical energisation dates.
5. Survey & Consultant Coordination
Commission and manage site-specific surveys: topographical, utility scans, drainage, noise, lighting, and environmental assessments.
Review deliverables for accuracy and escalate any issues or conflicts.
Track consultant performance and delivery dates.
6. Client Interface
Attend client meetings as required and present updates on planning, design, and programme.
Maintain clear and professional communication with client-side contacts.
Gather and log client decisions and approvals.
7. Documentation & Programme Tracking
Maintain internal trackers for applications, approvals, and design submissions.
Ensure all project documentation is stored and structured correctly within internal systems (e.g. SharePoint, Monday.com, etc.).
Support the PM in preparing project status reports and dashboard inputs.
8. Coordination with Internal Delivery Teams
Collaborate closely with Construction and Programme teams to ensure alignment across workstreams.
Provide regular updates to Project Managers and escalate risks or issues promptly.
