We are supporting an R&D Tax firm in Bolton with their recruitment for a Claims Submission Assistant. The role is based out of our client\'s Bolton office and offers fantastic upskilling and progression for candidates looking to develop a career in R&D Tax Consulting.

Our client work a 4 day working week, with 3 days being in the office!

Salary: \xc2\xa325k-\xc2\xa330k DOE

THE ROLE

This is a varied and fast paced position where you will be responsible for analysing the costs attributed to the clients R&D and Patent Box projects; you will be tasked with ensuring that technical compliance is in line with HMRC legislation and accounting policies before submitting the reports and tax returns on behalf of your client, ensuring they are processed in line with HMRC legislation and guidelines.

You will need to liaise with your clients and even meet them on a face to face basis to discuss any issues you have found within your analysis and submission process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Becoming the primary client point-of-contact
  • Reviewing amended corporation tax computations and corporation tax returns to ensure R&D, Patent Box and Capital Allowance claims have been incorporated in line with current legislation.
  • Supporting the technical R&D claim specialists with tax technical queries
  • Visiting clients as part of a consulting team to conduct technical interviews and gather financial information for R&D, Patent Box and Capital Allowance claims
  • Reviewing changes to legislation which may impact on the product offering
  • Assist marketing efforts through tax technical content creation
  • Reviewing claims as part of a rigorous quality control process
  • Offering support to more senior members of the team
  • Working with clients to implement record keeping tools
  • Work with the client acquisition team to develop claim methodologies
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • We are looking for someone who has the relevant tax or accounting qualifications, i.e. ATT/AAT/ACCA
  • Previous Corporation Tax experience
  • Ability to manage workloads and effectively prioritise tasks
  • Excellent telephone and written skills
  • Ability to build a good rapport with clients, their accountants and the rest of the team
  • Wants to learn about the niche product offering and the impact these products have on general Corporation Tax compliance.
